I must be honest, it took me more than a year to decide to read this book after I bought it. It was one of the first books I bought for my new Kindle. I remember that I liked the synopsis, so I thought I can give it a try. Another slow thing is that it took me 2 months to finish it. I must admit that I prefer reading paperbacks, so that’s probably the reason I read it so slowly.
This is my first time reading a book from Keary Taylor, so I wasn’t sure what I should expect. Her writing style is somehow “fuzzy”, so I’ve got that moment, in which I had to return and reread again. It’s certain that English is not my first language, but I usually don’t have problems reading in English. Anyhow, I’m glad that I finished it.
This story shows the angels in very different style from the usual stories about them. In this one they are not so good. They are divided in 2 fractions – good and bad, and of course we have to deal with the bad ones – condemned! The idea that living people must stood trials for the dead is also unusual, but hey, who said that people can’t have imagination…
The main character – Jessica didn’t have the chance to become my favorite. I just can’t get her. Why was so difficult to understand who Cole was? It was obvious, or at least for me. And Alex? He was so sweet and so unreal – such men just don’t exist on Earth.
Anyhow, it wasn’t a bad story. It took me too much time to read, but I don’t regret it that much. It is recommended for people, who would like to read different story about angels.
