About the Book

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

My review:

I love to read stories about vampires a lot. I remember I had heard about this series long ago, but I had never decided to start reading it ever since. That brings us to the moment when I went to the city library and the book was lying on the shelf waiting for somebody to take it and start reading it. It happened to be me.

I don’t know why, but this ended to be one of the hardest books for reading. I dunno if you know that feeling – interesting story, but not easy for reading. For me, aside the story of the turning of Beth, the book is too much filled with sexual content.

The writer (J. R. Ward) gone too far with the description of the sex scenes, Wrath’s body and attributes (you know what I mean) etc. It’s good that it is listed for adults, but most teens are into vampires stories and probably had found this book long ago. I think this is the only bad point I find in this book.

Besides, the story is good, never read of such before, so it makes it unique. Most of the vampire books are all the same, but the idea of the brotherhood is something new in this genre.

General note: 5/10
