The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all — she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.
But nothing comes without a price.
Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her — his mother just found out that he’s a vampire, and now he’s homeless. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.
My Review:
This book is absolutely the great beginning for the second part of the story. Well, I devide the story between book 1 – 3 and book 4 – 6. I had read it very fast – just for 2-3 days and the story was so fascnating, I wasn’t able to stop. Being honest, I read every moment I wasn’t at work.
All the time I was wondering what is going to happen and when finally I got what’s coming I was surprised. I never thought that Lilith will be included in the story. And you know who’s back? Yes, Sebastian! Oops, Johnathan. And I should say that I started to dislike Clary a bit. Not that she was my favorite, but didn’t really got her in this book. At all!
Meanwhile, while Clary and Jace was going through demons, vampires and etc., I absolutely enjoyed the story between Magnus and Alec – that’s my favorite couple. Yay!
Anyhow, this is good book! Very interesting and catching! You totally need to read!
General note: 9/10
